The review for DBDesigner has not been completed yet, but it was tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below.

DBeaver is a full management application for developing with various types of databases, not least of which is MySQL and Oracle.

Apart from its support of the two most common database types, DBeaver can also handle IBM DB2, SQLite, PostgreSQL and MS SQL.

The application offers a lot of options for dealing with databases and can manage DB indexes, accounts and scripts. The most useful feature here for developers might just be the ability to create valid SQL statements and scripts which can be imported server-side. The application can also connect to local and remote database servers if the accounts are set up.

DBeaver also includes several other tools including a metadata browser, a meta data editor for tables and columns, SQL highlighting, hyperlinks and more. It fully supports BLOB entries and in the case they are images, includes an image viewer.

Overall, DBeaver is a useful application for database administrators and can be quite useful for more novice users in creating valid SQL statements in MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL and other support database types.

Tested and verified for MS Windows, Linux and Mac OS X.

Install:

D link dwl 122 driver. Windows installer – run installer executable. It will automatically upgrade version (if needed).
MacOS DMG – just run it and drag-n-drop DBeaver into Applications.
Debian package – run sudo dpkg -i dbeaver-<version>.deb. Then execute “dbeaver &”.
RPM package – run sudo rpm -ivh dbeaver-<version>.rpm. Then execute “dbeaver &”. Note: to upgrade use “-Uvh” parameter.
ZIP archive – extract archive and run “dbeaver” executable. Do not extract archive over previous version (remove previous version before install).

Upgrade – don’t be afraid to remove previous DBeaver version – your settings won’t be lost. All settings are kept in the separate folder (DBeaverData in user home)

Java notes:
DBeaver requires Java 11 or higher. Since version 7.3.1 all distributions include OpenJDK 11 bundle.
If you want to use you own locally installed Java you may delete folder “jre” in the DBeaver installation folder.

You can use PPA repository to easily install/upgrade DBeaver on Debian Linuxes. Fallout 4 add ons xbox one free. Mostly it is the same as regular Debian repo but it is hosted on Launchpad.

Early Access:

You may get latest build (EA version) of DBeaver. Usually it contains all major bug fixes found in current stable version. Just choose the archive corresponding to your OS and hardware from the following folder: EA version downloads.
