You will be working on a wide range of backend features that are all somehow related to Deezer Backstage, a portal dedicated to. Please request access to our new Backstage for artists platform here, click on the button 'request access' and make sure you include enough evidence    In case you have already done that and paid a lot of attention while filling it out please let us know and we see what we can do.

After Spotify and Apple Music, it’s Deezer’s turn to unveil their platform for artists. You’re probably wondering how to create your Deezer Backstage account, how to use it and why? We’re going to answer these questions now… Let’s dive right in.

How do I sign up?

To create your account, you’ll need to request access by going to the website https://backstage.deezer.com/user/login and clicking the dedicated button. After that, you can select your role.

As an artist, you’ll have to fill in:

• Your artist name
• Your email address
• One of your UPC codes (that you first get when you create a release)
• Your label if you have one
• Your distributor aka Spinnup
• Your distributor email (support@spinnup.com)

You can then add your socials if you like.

If you’re a manager, you’ll only be asked for your name, the artists you manage, your email et the distributor’s email.

When you’re granted access, Deezer will contact you to let you know and you’ll be able to use Deezer Backstage.

What is Deezer Backstage for?

Even though it’s a very recent addition to Deezer, it’s a useful tool for any artist or manager who wants to check their stats or edit their artist profile. It used to be such a hassle to get your artist profile looking great before Deezer Backstage. Changes had to be made by the Deezer support team directly. Things are way easier now and we’re not complaining!

What can I edit on my profile?

• Your profile picture
• Your bio
• Social media links
• Your touring info
• Playlists you’ve created

Deezer Backstage Access

Everything you need to know about the changes you can make to your profile is right over here! It’s all available in Deezer Backstage and very simple to do. Don’t hesitate to show your personality and make your page appealing. You can now add statuses to your artist page to keep your fans posted with any news and engage with them more.

Check your stats

Deezer Backstage allows you to better understand your audience by giving you access to stats on your streams, the number of people who listen to your music and about the playlists your tracks feature in. These stats will help you understand through which playlists you get the most streams, what track is doing better and when.

Don’t forget that you get plenty of detailed stats on your socials and streaming services in your Spinnup account! These stats make it easy to compare and see what you have to work on.

Here’s everything you need to know about this new platform. Since it’s fairly new, it’s probably going to evolve with new exciting features, and we’ll make sure to keep you updated.

We already mentioned how Deezer has so many millions of songs to discover, but how on earth are you supposed to filter through those to find undiscovered music you actually like?

If you have an artist or song you want to play, you can of course search for them as per normal, or dig deeper to come across new discoveries. On Deezer you can find new songs from almost anywhere by giving you the options to search by genre, or country of origin.

We get asked this a lot by artists. A lot of them think that if they are on Spotify and Apple Music or iTunes then that’s enough. But as we mentioned before, every music fan has their service of choice, and if you’re not on Deezer, then you are potentially missing out on millions of fans!

How to get your music on Deezer

Deezer Backstage Access Point

To make a release, login to your artist account and hit the ‘Create Release’ button in the bottom left corner. It’s an easy step by step process which guides you the whole way.

Access and update your Deezer4Artists profile

Deezer4Artists, or D4A, is Deezer’s hub for musicians who release their music on the platform.
Here they provide tools to help artists grow, engage with, and maintain their fan base through their digital tools.

Deezer 4 Artists offers:

• Artist pages, where you can customise your images, update your status or upload a playlist of what you’re listening to
• Deezer Uploader, which pushes your audio content out to the fans that follow you, from track previews to exclusive mixes!
• Deezer Analytics that provide real time stats and analytics of how well your music is doing

Right now Deezer are hard at work updating all these tools to give artists the best possible service and experience, so you must contact Deezer directly to update your bio, profile and banner images, or add in links to your artist social media.

You can send this in any language, but we would recommend writing it in either English or French

Banner Image

Dimensions: 1800×230 pixels
File type: JPEG or PNG
Max file size: 6MB
Please note: If your banner image has text on it, make sure the wording is concentrated either in the centre, or the far left or far right. When you submit a banner image it will hide your profile picture on desktop screens.

Profile Image

Dimensions: 500×50 pixels
File type: JPEG or PNG
Max file size: 3MB
Please note: If you have a banner image and a profile image, your profile picture will only be visible on your profile on mobile devices.

Social Media Links

Ensure all URLs contain http:// at the beginning. For example, your Facebook URL will be: http://facebook.com/artistname.

We will let you know once Deezer 4 Artists is back up and running, and you can login and make all the changes to your artist profile yourself.
